Wastewater Operator I
Job Description Inframark is hiring a Wastewater Operator or Operator in Training for Guymon, OK. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Conducts routine testing and monitoring of wastewater processes and basic laboratory analyses including daily flow, pH, MLSS, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia. + Ensure the plant operates efficiently while maintaining effluent discharge within permit limits. + Operates a variety of equipment/machinery such as: valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, vehicles, etc. + Responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies. + Ensures facilities are clean, neat, and secure. + Provides customer service functions when necessary. + Required to work some weekends, holidays, and 24-hour emergency on call. + Other duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** + Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safety practices are essential. + Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable. + Completion of water or wastewater correspondence courses is very desirable. + Display a willingness, aptitude, and self-discipline to study the required material and meet all prerequisites to obtain wastewater certification. **EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS** **_Education/Experience_** : High School Diploma or GED. **_Licenses/Certifications_** : Valid Driver’s License. Wastewater Operator License and/or Wastewater Lab License for the state of Oklahoma or ability to obtain within one year of employment. **_Technical_** : Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Basic knowledge of wastewater operations. **_Communication_** : Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive work environment and customer experience. Willingness to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations. **_Problem Solving & Quality_** : Pays attention to detail. Identifies & solves problems. Escalates issues accordingly. Checks work for quality. **_Managing for Results_** : Works well with supervision. Takes projects to completion. Follows all company policies & Standard Operating Procedures. Manages multiple tasks. **_Leadership & Initiative_** : Demonstrates a positive attitude. Acts in accordance with company vision, mission & values. Takes accountability for own performance. Willingness to take on additional assignments. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** Must be able to: lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders; work with hand tools. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors.
