Wastewater Operator Night Shift

The Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for day to day operations of a 24/hour day/7 day/week, 365 day/year Metals Precipitation and Biological Treatment Wastewater System. The operator is the primary position responsible for ensuring that the treatment plant is maintained and operated in compliance with the site's state issued indirect discharge permit. The operator will report to the Site Supervisor and will inform him of any operational concerns and/or project needs in order to facilitate appropriate action for corrective measures.

Primary responsibilities include:

Control equipment and monitor processes that remove harmful materials and chemicals from wastewater.Keep records of water quality and other indicators.Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through treatment equipment.Monitor system key performance indicators and make adjustments as necessary.Read instruments, meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment is working properly.Take samples and run analytical tests to determine the quality of the water being produced.Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as coagulants and flocculants, being added to the water.Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes.Plan emergency reaction protocols.Keep records that document compliance.Preventative and Reactive Maintenance.Housekeeping per 5S Standards.

Must be able to work independently and be available for overtime hours, including weekends. High mechanical aptitude required. Must be dependable.

Primarily Night Shift, rotating (12) hour shifts. Every other weekend off. State of Georgia issued Class 3 or higher wastewater license preferred. Position requires high level of professionalism and willingness to make decisions. High level of mechanical aptitude required.
