Wastewater Plant Operator
**Job Title: Wastewater Plant Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a full-time Wastewater Plant Operator for an operations project in Batavia, NY. The Plant Operator will perform a wide range of mid-complex to complex tasks encompassing field assignments based on client requirements. **Responsibilities** + Perform daily operations and maintenance of the treatment plant. + Complete minor routine maintenance of equipment. + Demonstrate good interpersonal skills. + Apply working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments. + Operate facilities with computer or PLC controls. + Monitor, regulate, and adjust chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment. + Collect samples and perform routine in-lab tests as required. + Maintain a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records. + Operate the system to maintain compliance with permit requirements. + Wash clarifiers, dissolved air flotation systems, contact basins, and operate sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment, as required. + Possess good knowledge of the practices used and the equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities and the ability to make routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations. + Possibly operate a variety of equipment such as forklifts, aerial or scissor lifts, generators, compressors, pumps, etc. + Participate actively in creating a safety culture at the job site. + Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Project Delivery Manual (PDM), Employee Manual, and Corporate Health & Safety Manual. **Essential Skills** + High School Diploma / Vocational training or equivalent. + Applicable health & safety training. + Typically, 5+ years of experience. + Knowledge of Microsoft Office. + Wastewater operator licenses not required, but preferred. + Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. + Ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understanding and applying results. + Good record-keeping skills, comfortable with computers and computer-controlled equipment, and capable of learning new operating, maintenance, analytical, or computer skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous treatment plant experience (water, wastewater, landfill leachate plant, etc.). + Strong understanding of nitrification, de-nitrification, laboratory skills (Hach tests), and MBR operation. + Strong mechanical and electrical experience. + Previous experience performing routine maintenance like oil changes and pump inspections. + Previous operator experience, license not required. + OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER preferred. + Lab experience a plus. + Direct leadership experience of any sort. + 5+ years total Waste Water Experience. **Why Work Here?** From the moment you join us, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. The system is a batch bioreactor treatment plant. Experience with Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems is a plus.
