Essential Job Functions:
Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts). Responsible for adhering to food quality and food safety guidelines per Refresco, Customer and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF) standards. Operate wastewater treatment and associated equipment. Manage wastewater operations in an environmentally responsible manner. Resolve minor equipment technical issues. Monitor storm water basins and outside storage areas. Maintain equipment and area cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP standards. Perform preventative maintenance duties. Maintain accurate records and logs. Conduct wastewater sampling and analyses. Generate work orders. Troubleshoot and correct problems during equipment operation. Comply with all standard safety practices, Company rules, and policies. Able to identify deficiencies within area of responsibility and implement or recommend appropriate corrective actions. Conduct safety tours of site once per shift to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Conduct periodic audits of the production areas to determine chemical or water usage. Updates excel spreadsheets of water and wastewater metrics. Minor outdoor clean-up activities. Attend pre-treatment course(s) and obtain passing grade(s). Obtain forklift license and genie boom operator certification within certification period.
Required Skills:
Must have keen eye for detail. Ability to read and understand equipment operations manuals, basic electrical and mechanical drawings and to perform maintenance tasks (after training) as related to wastewater equipment. Knowledge of sampling techniques and testing for parameters like pH, biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, and turbidity. Skills in operating and maintaining pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment system equipment. Ability to perform regular inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns, extend equipment life, and ensure efficient operation. Ability to accurately enter and manage operational data for record-keeping and compliance reporting. Ability to work a 12-hour shift and to participate in an “on-call” schedule. Must be certified on the JPM for this position within sixty working days of start date.

Record-Keeping: Ability to document operational data, inspections, and any incidents in compliance with regulatory standards. Communication: Clearly and accurately conveys information about wastewater processes, compliance, and safety protocols to team members and regulatory bodies. Continuous Improvement: Proactively looking for ways to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste or energy use. Data Analysis: Ability to interpret data from lab results and monitoring equipment to adjust processes. Root Cause Analysis: Identifying underlying causes of process issues or equipment malfunctions and implementing corrective actions. Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with team members, maintenance staff, and environmental health and safety (EHS) personnel.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalency required. 1-year recent wastewater experience. Prior production / manufacturing experience preferred. Anaerobic and Aerobic experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, overnight and holidays may be required. Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection, temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold, and can include wetness, dust, moving equipment, vibrations and vapors. The environment is structured and supervised, with clear production targets and schedules to meet.

Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment. Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy and or similar demands.
