**Job Title: Wastewater Technician** **Job Description** This **entry level** role is based at a nickel plating facility that supports the Aerospace and Defense Industries. The facility operates 35+ tanks where products such as parts for rockets, missiles, gun magazines, and bullet casings are treated to meet customer specifications. **Responsibilities** + Operate and maintain wastewater systems to meet permit and production needs. + Ensure equipment readiness and proper waste segregation. + Coordinate with Process Engineers and production staff. + Assist with sampling and waste material pick-ups. + Inspect and maintain storage areas weekly. + Collaborate with maintenance to improve equipment. + Document tasks and maintain records. + Assist in spill prevention and cleanup. + Perform lab duties including testing, upkeep, inventory, and sample collection. + Follow all safety standards. **Essential Skills** + Understanding of WW Pretreatment Discharge Permit requirements related to pretreatment, sampling, and disposal of all waste streams flowing to the POTW. + Knowledge of regulatory requirements for handling, storing, and shipping hazardous materials. + Ability to manage time to complete all tasks within given time frame. + Ability to drive a forklift. + Effective communication skills with management and production employees verbally and via e-mails. + Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to work with hands. + Ability to schedule and set up shipments. + Experience with plumbing, steam equipment, boiler, pump control, wastewater, and water treatment. **Why Work Here?** This company values its employees, offering a family-oriented work environment and excellent benefits. The role is on the 1st shift, from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. Candidates must be able to wear a respirator once hired directly. The facility has a total of 35 employees and is not a manufacturing plant but a passthrough facility for nickel plating products. Candidates will be around chemicals, so those with sensitive skin may not be suitable. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00 Health, dental, vision and 401k are offered. The company will also pay for someone to go out and get their Wastewater Certification.
