Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Shift Time:  1st Shift

Shift Days:  Monday through Friday weekly

Shift Hours:  7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

OPERATOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Ensure all safety practices are in place and followedPerform daily rounds and record dataMonitor system and make process adjustments as needed to maintain permit complianceCalibrate probes and maintain chemical feed systemClean inline basket strainersCheck all equipment for cleanliness and proper operationMaintain inventory of chemicals and suppliesTrain backup operatorsCollaborate with JLL/Pfizer management and onsite personnel to determine best practices and upgradesHousekeeping of the WWTP equipment and shelters

OVERALL ROLE

The WWTP Operator will assist the Facilities Supervisor & Hard Services Manager to operate & maintain the WWTP and the repairing of equipment that belongs to the WWTP system on site. The Facility WWTP Operator is also required to provide handyman support to the team when required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the treatment plant systemsMaintain and operate the filtering and chemical treatment processesInspect, service and repair components of the water treatment plant including water intakes, piping, water storage vessels, chemical treatment equipment controls, circulation pumps, boilers, heat exchangers and valvesPrepare work orders for servicing and repairsArrange for major repairsInspect the treatment plant systems daily to ensure effective operation

Ideal Experience

Prior experience in WWTP operation* Minimum license requirement – Massachusetts Grade 1 Industrial (full status)Knowledge of WWTP equipment repairing and maintenanceAbility and knowledge in the use of all tools, equipment, and material used for repairsService oriented attitudeBasic Working knowledge of computersAbility to follow timetables for repairs
