Water Compliance Supervisor
Overview ***This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP*** Under supervision of the Environmental Engineer Sr., the Water Compliance Supervisor will assist with the day-to-day operation of compliance and monitoring activities of drinking water and wastewater program. Support SOW services in the areas of drinking water, wastewater treatment and collection, and sampling. The Water Compliance supervisor will oversee the water, and wastewater compliance specialist that collect samples and perform inspections to ensure compliance with the applicable environmental and DoD regulations. Provide training, feedback, development, timecard approval, counseling on performance for direct reports. Ensure weekly reports are completed and submitted to the Sr. Engineer and the information is accurate. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Responsible for training and evaluating water and wastewater compliance specialist. Training includes instructing specialist on work instruction, standard procedures of operations, as well as proper sampling collect techniques and inspections. Scheduling and implementation of all water quality sampling activities, wastewater treatment and collection, compliance inspections and confirm that the specialists can perform proper field sample techniques. Collect ice and water samples, wastewater samples, and conduct inspection, as needed. Ensure specialists are completing and submitting water analytical reports correctly for verification. Maintain appropriate and accurate records of water and wastewater sampling and inspection reports, chain of custody records, and other written correspondence on share drive. Provide data and assist in the revision of work instructions, standard operation procedures and plans, and assist in quality audits. Assists with the preparation of sampling and management reports. Able to interpret and maintain current knowledge of DoD, U.S. Army, and host nation water regulations (i.e., OEBGD, Final Governing Standards, and AR 200-1). Coordinate and assist with other departments and installation with environmental needs, as required. Report any environmental issues and concerns involving water compliance to Sr. Environmental Engineer and/or management. Must be able to drive and obtain a valid driver’s license and host nation driver’s license. Submit weekly reports/slide presentations and ensure the data is accurate. Perform other duties or tasks as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required. Bachelor's degree in environmental management program or an OSHA related field. Skill level and/or years of experience: Prior experience working as EHS specialist, environmental health and safety assistant, environmental health and safety professional, Health Safety consultant. Licenses/Certifications: Certified Environmental Specialist, Training/Certification HAZWOPER: 40-Hr, maintain the annual 24-hr, or 8-hr. course whichever is required. Skills: Ability to inspect all ESH material or HAZMAST material holding stations, monitor and document all material movements, from initial receipt to written confirmation of acceptance at the destination Ability to Ensure that all EPA, OSHA and DoD regulations are implemented. Ability to schedule and hold training sessions on all aspects of the program functional areas. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
