Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.
OVERVIEW
Responsible for the execution of all necessary safety policies and agricultural activities such as but not limited to land application of soil amendments, land preparation, seed quality, planting, crop and pest scouting, cultivation, water management, rotation/alternative crops. These activities must be production and cost goal oriented.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Comply with and enforce Florida Crystals Corporation’s Environmental Health and Safety Policy (EHS). Must understand and adhere to all Florida Crystals Corporation’s policies and procedures
+ Attend departmental and safety meetings as scheduled, along with implementation of action items approved
+ Execute and/or coordinate the application of soil amendments, land preparation, in field planting inspections, seed cut and transport, fertilization, crop and pest scouting, agro-chemical applications, cultivation, water management (pump operation, staff gauge readings, etc.), supervise the harvesting
+ Keep and report farm and equipment records
+ Execute the crop rotation plan and coordinate with alternative crop management
+ Communicates daily work schedules to team members
+ Supervise availability of farm equipment, connect/disconnect implements, and coordinate repairs with the shop
+ Assists the Farm Manager with cost control, ensure expenses are maintained within budget and recommends practices to lower costs
+ Maintain consistent communication with Farm Manager, coach team members and provide feedback to all levels
+ Maintain professional and courteous relationships with all departments within the company
+ Communicate Human Resource’s policies and procedures to team members; support Florida Crystals Corporation’s Standards of Conduct/Work Rules Policy
+ All other duties as directed by management representatives
WORK EXPERIENCES
+ Minimum of two 2 years of previous agricultural experience (preferred)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
+ High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (desired but not required)

+ Solid working knowledge of all components of agricultural operations
+ Must be able to function independently, demonstrate flexibility and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
+ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Exercise good judgment and solid thought process
+ Ability to apply and adapt to practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, other management staff and senior level management
+ Ability to respond to inquiries and/or complaints from team members
+ Ability to use technology such as computers, mobile devices and crop management software
+ Ability to comprehend technical reading materials and financial reports
+ Solid communication skills – requires the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written. Ability to effectively present information to senior management and team members
+ Must be able to coordinate multiple duties of an urgent nature
+ A valid driver’s license is required. Commercial driver’s license preferred
+ Ability to obtain a Pilot Escort License
+ Basic Knowledge of Precision Agriculture (Preferred)
+ Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
