As a Water Designer at Gannett Fleming, you’ll play a role in shaping infrastructure projects that improve community well-being and resilience—from expanding essential facilities to designing water distribution systems that ensure safe, reliable access to water.

 

In this role, you’ll be contributing to infrastructure that addresses community needs while promoting environmental sustainability and adherence to regulatory standards. Whether working on regional pipeline installations or complex water systems, your work will directly benefit public health, safety, and quality of life. This position provides a meaningful pathway to broaden your expertise while making a positive and lasting community impact.

 

Responsibilities:

Assist with the planning and engineering of water projects, creating designs, specifications, and calculations for pipelines, treatment facilities, and drainage systems that serve a range of communities.Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards meet or exceed expectations, fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach.Provide support and mentor junior engineers and CAD designers, sharing knowledge to enhance their technical skills and career development.Maintain Gannett Fleming’s high-quality standards by coordinating closely with regulatory agencies, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged in the project.Act as a technical liaison, clearly communicating design concepts, project updates, and recommendations to internal teams.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering3 -10 years of experience in water/wastewater utility design, especially in public works or municipal infrastructureProficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for design and planning; knowledge of hydraulic modeling tools requiredStrong communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindsetA proactive and positive approach, committed to integrity, inclusivity, quality, and continuous growth in the water/wastewater sector
