Now’s your chance. **The Opportunity** Abt Global seeks a qualified Water Governance Specialist to provide strategic and technical leadership for the anticipated USAID Bangladesh Feed the Future Water Management Activity. The activity will support the Government of Bangladesh to confront challenges to water governance and watershed management in Barisal, Khulna, and Sylhet Divisions. The activity aims to catalyze changes in water management systems and regulatory environment, including irrigation systems, water-saving agricultural practices, water conservation, and improved access to clean water. The incumbent will coordinate planning and implementation of programming across program objectives and will report to the Chief of Party. The full-time position is anticipated to be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with regular travel to project sites. The position is contingent upon the activity’s award and USAID approval. **Core Responsibilities** + Identify, support, and provide technical assistance and training for the adoption of integrated water management principles and tools. + Support institutional and policy development efforts to further cooperation; advise on the drafting of new legal texts, implementation decrees, policies, white papers, and studies that promote integrated water management; and lead capacity building for stakeholders to support implementation of improved policies and practices. + Facilitate agreements for sharing water and environmental information across regions and setting up public information/awareness tools. + Lead or contribute to studies of the water sector. + Identify and engage champions and detractors of water governance reforms among water administrations and agencies, water user associations/groups (including businesses), universities, media, and the civil society at large. + Engage key stakeholders on water-related initiatives. Identify opportunities to coordinate and layer interventions. **What We Value** + Master’s degree in water resources management, natural resource management, hydrology, local governance, or related field. + Seven years of relevant subject-matter expertise and experience related to water governance, including experience with USAID or other international donors, preferably in Bangladesh. + Demonstrated technical capacity to design and implement water management programs and interventions with local and international stakeholders. + Ability to engage government and civil society organizations, public- and private-sector counterparts, and other key stakeholders to create synergies toward achieving results.  + High level of technical and analytical skills across multiple aspects of water management. + Effective communication skills, both oral and written. + Fluency in English and Bengali required. **What We Offer** We foster an environment where you can Thrive Your Way.
