Job Title: Water Resource Engineer
Job Description

Our client is a recognized professional services design firm providing civil engineering, water resources engineering, landscape architecture, sports and recreation, programming and planning, surveying and mapping, and physical site security design to a broad spectrum of market sectors and clients. They have a proven track record of working with federal agencies and offer a dedicated Water Resources Team providing services in stormwater management design, floodplain analysis and permitting, dam breach analysis and permitting, MS4 permitting, stormwater construction inspections, and stormwater operation and maintenance programs. We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources Team within our Chantilly, VA office to work on stormwater design projects supporting new and redevelopment projects. ResponsibilitiesProduce final construction documentsConduct site visitsDevelop local and state permit applicationsPrepare technical reportsResearch regulatory codes, manuals, and standardsCommunicate effectively with team membersDesign various SWM facilities, including bioretentions, green roofs, permeable pavements, stormwater ponds, manufactured treatment devices, and underground detention facilities in support of land development projectsDevelop and execute stormwater operation and maintenance programs for entities owning large SWM assetsModel and analyze local and FEMA floodplains for existing conditions and proposed alteration condition studies, including designing large culvert/bridge crossingsAnalyze and permit state-regulated dams, including dam breach inundation studies, operation and maintenance permitting, alteration permits, emergency action plan development and execution, annual dam inspections, and other dam-related activitiesGain general civil/land development experienceEssential SkillsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar degreeStrong mathematical/analytical skillsStrong communication, writing, and organizational skillsStrong quality control skills and attention to detailProficiency with AutoCADAdditional Skills & QualificationsEngineer-in-TrainingProficiency with ArcMap or similarProficiency with H&H modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Flowmaster, HEC-1, TR-20Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $125000.00
