HDR is currently in need of a Water Resources Engineer to work as a member of our Transportation Business Group in our Maryland (Fulton) or Virginia (Glen Allen, Roanoke, Vienna, Virginia Beach) offices.In the role of Water Resources Engineer, we'll count on you to:Provide project engineering and task management, conduct difficult to complex hydraulic and hydrologic modeling; conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design for highway/transit projects; collect, assimilate and present data in reports, memos and public forums; lead production of design calculations and technical reports; and lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structuresWork independently in addition to planning, organizing and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/taskConduct water resources planning, plan formulation and concept development, and develop planning documentationAssist in water resources permitting effortsMentor and oversee Water Resources EITsPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other Water Engineering related fieldHighway drainage experienceExperience with water resources design elements related to stormwater management, culverts, storm systems and ES controlsExperience with MS Office, Microstation, HEC-RAS, FHWA hydraulic programs and all other software used for drainage design for VDOT or MDOT project preferredFamiliarity with regional standards and permitting process including VDOT, MDOT, VPDES, and MDEPreference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
