ABOUT THE POSITION

Join VHB’s expanding Water Resources team as a Water Resources Engineer and make a significant impact! We’re seeking a skilled professional to collaborate with our expert team on cutting-edge projects in hydrology and hydraulics analysis, culvert and bridge design, stream restoration, stormwater management, and resiliency efforts. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions that drive sustainable development in water resources, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental projects. Responsibilities

Lead tasks under the supervision of the project manager on multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, or stormwater design focus including interaction with staff and clientsDevelop 1-D and 2-D hydraulic models for project analysis and designPrepare and review stormwater management and stream restoration design drawings and specificationsPrepare technical reports, plans and specificationsDevelop project proposals, scopes of work and fee estimatesAttend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with themMentor junior staff in both technical and professional aspectsResponsible for project task management including task financial performance

Qualifications

BS in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources engineering or related discipline3-5 years professional experience; 5-8 years preferred, of water resources engineering and analysis experience Experience preparing design plans & specifications, and preparing technical reportsExperience with task management and people management/mentoringExperience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling preferredExperience with geomorphic evaluation and stream simulation design EIT required, PE licensure preferredProficiency with relevant software including HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Microsoft Word and Excel
