What You Will Do
Our Transportation Group in our Owings Mills, MD office is currently looking for a Water Resources Engineer. Come join our team!
Duties/Responsibilities:
The engineer will gain experience over time under supervision of a professional engineer and will be required to perform the following services:Provide design and drafting support for Water Resources aspects of highway design, site, and facility projects including storm drain systems, SWM facilities, erosion and sediment control and other related aspects.Assist in performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and technical writing in order to prepare reports and permit applications, including those for wetland and waterway construction, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control. Assist in performing field reviews of project sites to determine existing conditions to aid in the project design.Provide technical assistance for other design projects as needed, including stream restorations and bridge scour studies. B.S. in Civil Engineering, emphasis in water resources or environmental engineering E.I.T. preferred. 1-3 years of transportation related experience including grading, storm drain systems, culverts, open channel flow, stormwater management (SWM), and erosion and sediment controlFamiliarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation and related Bentley programs is preferredExperience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD or other water resource related programs is a plusMust be able to learn, understand and be able to apply Maryland and Federal design codes, AASHTO, SHA Highway Drainage Manual, MDE Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control RequirementsAt Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
