Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Entry- Level Water Resources Engineer in our Chelmsford, MA or Boston office.
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical expertise and specialized consulting services in water resources and civil engineering, including stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulics, coastal engineering, sediment transport, and water quantity/quality modeling in support of various environment and water resource projects.Assist in the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, including Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Low Impact Development (LID) techniques.Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software tools and models.Participate in field investigations and data collection efforts to support water resources projects.Assist in the preparation of technical reports, permit applications, and project deliverables.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions for complex water resource challenges.Support the development of flood mitigation strategies and floodplain management plans.Contribute to the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for water resources projects.Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.Stay current with emerging technologies, regulations, and best practices in the water resources field.Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed.Support senior engineers in project management tasks and quality control processes.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to perform design projects on stormwater BMPs and site design, as well as knowledge of NPDES discharge and land disturbance permits.Strong GIS and CADD skills, and technical writing.Knowledge in coastal and riverine hydrodynamics, numerical methods, statistical analysis, and computer programming.Work productively in a collaborative team environment, demonstrate growth potential, and have a desire to learn.Master’s in civil or environmental engineering.Prior related intern and/or professional experience.EIT required.Attention to detail.Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.Strong logic and writing skills.Works productively in a team environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Able to work independently.Additional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this position.Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.About AECOM
