Water Resources Project Engineer

Position Summary:  JMT is seeking a motivated Water Resources Design Engineer with 6-10 years of design experience to join the Trenton, NJ group.  The Design Engineer will perform various design and permitting tasks in conjunction and with the oversight of senior design engineers.  The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design experience in drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management design, H&H modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to perform a variety of design tasks in the civil engineering and environmental permitting field.  U.S. Residency Required.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.  Candidates to be familiar with Federal, State and local jurisdiction design standards and permitting regulations is required.  Candidates to be capable of completing design tasks including, but are not limited to, the development of roadway and site grading plans, drainage design, stormwater management design, erosion and sedimentation control, construction staging and sequencing plans, watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and design/inspection of traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments. Candidates to complete assignments will be performed through a working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, and standards and processes. Candidates to be capable of coordinating with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines is expected.
