Water Resources Project Manager

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager for our New Orleans office. This role is focused on supporting a 5-year, $18M contract with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for the Louisiana Watershed Initiative Region 2 Modeling Contract. The ideal candidate will have the unique opportunity to take a leadership role in our continued growth in Louisiana on a variety of drainage, stormwater, and water resources projects for public clients including municipalities, parishes, levee boards / water authorities, State agencies, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The role will involve coordination and collaboration between Freese and Nichols’ Stormwater, Coastal, and Water Resources Design groups. This candidate will Manage and perform routine to complex engineering work related to watershed modeling and design that requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Will Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, mitigation planning, preparation of design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs of closed systems, open channels, culverts and bridges, and detention ponds. Be the Interface with clients and develop strong working relationships through project interaction.  Lastly, will have the opportunity to participate in proposals and business development activities in an expanding market and geography. 

QualificationsRequired Skills and Qualifications:   5+ years’ of relevant experience in Water Resources Engineering.  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.  Registered Professional Engineer within the State of LouisianaSoftware Requirements - HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM or Infoworks, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
