Your Opportunity

Stantec's growing multi-disciplinary office in Minneapolis, MN has an opportunity for a Water Resources Technician.  This position requires the flexibility to work in the office and on construction sites.  The majority of the work will be in the Twin Cities metro area. There will be occasional need to travel for periods of several weeks for projects in Greater Minnesota or neighboring states.  This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic person who is interested in growth on a professional and personal level. Your Key Responsibilities Conduct erosion control and stormwater compliance inspections and documentation on active construction sites. Review and prepare erosion and sediment control plans and SWPPPs. Interpret federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Assist with NPDES program development and preparation of MS4 Permits and SWPPPs. Interact and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Interact with and develop excellent relations with clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Ensure QA/QC requirements and procedures are adhered to. Assist in completion of technical reports. Actively participate in maintaining Stantec's safety culture. Travel within Canada and the U.S. may be required.  Your Capabilities and Credentials Knowledge of the Twin Cities metro area. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional MS Office skills. Strong note-taking skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of technical writing skills. Experienced at working well in a team atmosphere and independently as required. Ability to work weekends as needed, as dictated by weather and construction needs. Ability to travel to remote sites as needed for extended periods. Prefer field experience in construction site stormwater compliance. Prefer current technical knowledge regarding construction site BMPs. Prefer knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements associated with stormwater compliance. Knowledge of database management is considered an asset. Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required). Must have the willingness to learn new skills while conducting field work. Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team and Business Center. This position requires driving for business purposes. Must hold a valid driver’s license and meet motor vehicle records requirements. Education and Experience Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
