About the Role & TeamIn this role, your primary responsibility will be the nightly leadership and management of the frontline Water Sciences Commercial Dive Technicians. You will ensure safety is always a top priority with adherence to strict OSHA and Walt Disney World regulatory guidelines related to Commercial Diving Operations. Further responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, and developing the front-line Dive Technicians, review of technician compliance with inspection criteria, and maintaining inventories of needed equipment to support performance of these duties.
This is a Full-Time, 3rd shift position, reporting to the Water Sciences Senior Operations Manager.
What You Will DoNightly oversight of the Water Sciences Dive Technicians, without direct oversight from a leader. You may be called upon to make decisions in partnership with peers and leaders following incidents or emergencies.Develop and provide performance coaching to Dive TechniciansTrain newly hired Dive Technicians and existing Technicians on maintaining Team compliance with Regulatory, Process, and Safety TrainingProduce daily/weekly status reports detailing project schedules and project progressProvide dive support to Attractions and Facilities Maintenance teams as integral partners when directed by leaderProvide global dive support to Animal ProgramsRequired Qualifications & SkillsCommercial Diving CertificationPassion to train personnel in the field on Commercial Dive practicesSuccessful candidate would need to pass the annual Walt Disney World Dive PhysicalAbility to lift at least 50 poundsKnowledge and familiarity with relevant Dive Industry StandardsPreferred QualificationsSCUBA Instructor certificationLeadership experienceProblem analysis and resolution skillsAbility to read technical drawings / schematicsAbility to utilize computer automation and state of the art devicesProficient in scheduling projects, material procurement and inventoryDemonstrated ability to produce technical reports for internal regulatory agenciesAbility to project yearly Dive expenditures and manage this budget throughout the year.EducationCompleted a formal course of instruction at a recognized commercial diving school, military training, or equivalent consisting of at least 625 hours of instruction in surface supply divingMust have a documented Log Book or equivalentBenefits & PerksDisney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
