About the Role & Team

As a Water Sciences Divemaster, you will be part of a team that facilitates a safe dive operation for both Cast and Guests at Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to being a safety diver for the Epcot Animal Husbandry team, you will also be the Divemaster for Guests on their DiveQuest tour. You will maintain the 5.7-million-gallon aquarium at the Seas with Nemo & Friends along with all side pools located around and connected to the main tank. In this role, you are a vital part of Disney's Animals, Science and Environment team.

This is a Full-Time role where you will report to the Animal Programs Manager.

What You Will DoSpend a significant portion of your day diving to maintain the aquarium and pools with tank maintenance and coral cleaningProvide support as the safety diver for any teams in the water, including animal carePerform the role of Divemaster for the in-water portion of our DiveQuest Guest tourImplement skill evaluations for checkout dives for new divers and annual skill checksProvide topside support for all dive teams by setting up dive stations, pumps and hoses, and performing the task of being in charge for divesMaintain equipment inventory and the log book on dive equipment and non-diving equipmentAct as the Lock Out diver in Guest presentationsScheduled to work 4, 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays as needed

Required Qualifications & SkillsComfortable working underwater for long periods of timeFormer experience performing dive equipment testing, dive rigs, deck whips, etcPrevious facilitation and presentation experienceTalent for developing partnerships and work with all team members in the organizationPass Disney's annual dive physicalConsistently lift heavy equipment such as dive gear, up to 50lbsProficiency in basic computer functions vital to operate in a Windows environment and other technologiesSchedule availability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidaysMust have a documented Log Book

EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent experienceDivemaster Certification
