HDR currently has an opening for a CAD Technician to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. The primary duties of this position will be to create drawings and figures through the use of computer-aided design software and under direct supervision of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. This position requires knowledge of procedures for the production of design development and construction drawings for water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Primary Responsibilities
The CAD Technician will develop design and construction drawings under direction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager. Specific expertise and responsibilities include:Performance of routine drafting assignments requiring application of standardized electronic drafting techniques including annotation, management of layers, and overall drawing presentation.Creation of design drawings and development of initial engineering layouts for water/wastewater/stormwater conveyance systems and site civil plans.Assembly of plan sets and coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and associated reference files.Learn and apply project/client specific drafting standards to drawings.Ability to work independently to perform redline revisions and develop design drawings from initial sketches.Performance of basic quantity and geometry calculations.Preferred Qualifications
Associates in Engineering Technology/CAD or minimum of 2-years equivalent professional CAD experience with AutoDesk certification.Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD to create design drawings and details following CAD standards.Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe/BlueBeam products.Attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong ability to follow written and oral instruction, tasking assignments, and documenting completion of tasksUse of AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM, Revit, Navisworks and/or Autodesk InfrastructureExperience developing alignments and profiles of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer utilities utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.Experience developing drawing and supporting design figures for water and wastewater treatment facilities, and pump stations.Primarily based out of HDR’s Fort Collins LocationLI-BC1
Required QualificationsTechnically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructureCompetency of Microsoft Office products and communication toolsExcellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essentialBasic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
