The Water & Wastewater Construction Inspector II will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of essential construction projects. Collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers while overseeing the implementation of water and wastewater systems that directly impact communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight:o Conduct on-site inspections to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with contract requirements
o Identify and report unsatisfactory or non-conforming work
o Evaluate contractor suggestions for modifications to designs or specifications and recommend actions
o Assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and final inspections
o Verify that certificates, operation manuals, and other deliverables align with installed items and contract specifications
Coordination & Communication:o Attend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and site inspections
o Notify Project Manager of sample availability, progress updates, and schedule adherence
o Assist with clarifications and interpretations of contract documents
o Communicate directly with contractors, owners, and regulatory agency representatives
Compliance & Quality Assurance:o Draft change orders and work directives as needed
o Review payment applications and schedules submitted by contractors
o Monitor tests, equipment startups, and training sessions to ensure compliance with contract requirements
Organization & Documentation:o Maintain accurate and organized project records, including logs, correspondence, reports, and photographs
o Track project schedules, shop drawings, and other contractor submissions
o Create and maintain electronic and/or paper files for all project documentation, including change orders, payment applications, and correspondence
o Construction observation and administration related to water and wastewater projects
o Construction observation and/or management for storm water, site grading, paving, and highway projects
o Familiarity of basic survey, grade and cut sheets, and quantity data
NICET certification preferred, but not mandatoryProficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and ExcelMust have a valid U.S. driver's license to travel to job sites, meetings, and other officesLegal authorization to work in the U.S.Life at HRG
