Description and Responsibilities:

HDR is seeking self-starter candidates for our Fort Collins office with an entrepreneurial drive, good communication, organizational and writing skills, and a strong passion for working with people on civil infrastructure projects. The technical focus of this position is on pipeline and pump station design for water and wastewater conveyance.

The primary responsibilities of the position include supporting the design of civil water and wastewater conveyance related projects for federal, state and local municipalities. This position will require production of design calculations, technical reports, and preparation of construction documents. Primary responsibilities include:

Leading detailed designs of water distribution, sewer collection, and stormwater systems. Preparing plans/construction drawings for utility and civil improvements through coordination with CAD staff and within AutoCAD software.Development of technical specifications based on HDR master specifications and client specifications.Preparation of related design reports with supporting mapping and calculations to document the design process and obtain agency approvals.Perform construction phase tasks including administration, construction observation, and supporting engineering activities.Preferred Qualifications

A solid foundation in various branches of water related civil engineering, development of construction drawings, and strong technical writing and organizational skills are essential requirements for this position. Specific required qualifications include:

Design expertise of water distribution and wastewater pipelines, system hydraulics, lift stations and pump stations.Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil and water/wastewater/stormwater pipeline designs and preparation of construction drawings and specifications.Construction experience for office engineering services including submittal and shop drawing review, responding to RFIs, and development of work change directives.Demonstrated experience with working in a team environment. Experience in assessing sewer pipeline condition through used CCTV and field test data.Experience using Civil3D for development of site grading, pipeline plan and profile drawings.Experience with ArcGIS software with use in system mapping and basic data analysis.Desire to pursue business development experience.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent fieldPrevious experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects Professional Engineer (PE) license Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
