Position Summary:

A part of HDR’s Washington Water Business Group, our thriving Pump Stations and Pipelines team is recognized throughout Washington in the planning, design, and delivery of complex water/wastewater pump station and pipeline projects. As a water/wastewater engineer in our group, you will play an integral part on various multidisciplinary teams to support highly visible, impactful public infrastructure projects across the region and country.

In this role, you will work closely with other team members to prepare calculations, writing specifications, reports, and construction documents, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, engineering design, and project closeout. You will be supported by senior engineers and/or project managers who will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the project lifecycle. Having the ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams is key for this role. Candidates with strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently will excel in this role.

In the role of Water/Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:

Performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresMaking decisions on significant design and engineering procedures, as needed
Acting as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, as needed Delegating to and mentoring junior staff, as needed Supervising small staff of professionals and technicians, as neededPreferred QualificationsMaster's DegreePrevious experience with an Architecture or Engineering consulting firm.Experience and client relationships in Washington state.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent fieldPrevious experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a taskAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
