Water Wastewater Engineer
Job Title: Water/Wastewater Engineer Job Description A growing Utah-based civil engineering firm is seeking a dedicated Water/Wastewater Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of municipal water design or treatment, including culinary or sewer water treatment, to lead a team of three EITs in a five-year-long, $90 million project to replace a 36-inch municipal water line. Expertise in booster pump stations, water tanks, water line replacement, hydraulics, and water modeling is required. Additionally, experience in lift stations and treatment of either wastewater or culinary water is essential. Proficiency in Aquatwin or similar water modeling software is highly desirable. Responsibilities + Lead a team of three Engineers in Training (EITs) in the replacement of a 36-inch municipal water line over a five-year period. + Manage and oversee the design and implementation of booster pump stations, water tanks, and water line replacements. + Ensure a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and water modeling. + Handle lift stations and treatment processes for either wastewater or culinary water. + Utilize water modeling software such as Aquatwin in project planning and execution. + Communicate effectively with mayors and the public in presenting project designs. Essential Skills + Professional Engineer (PE) license. + Experience in municipal water design or treatment, including culinary or sewer water treatment. + Proficiency in booster pump stations, water tanks, and water line replacement. + Strong understanding of hydraulics and water modeling. + Experience in lift stations and treatment processes for wastewater or culinary water. + Proficiency in water modeling software such as Aquatwin. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Excellent communication and teamwork skills. + Experience presenting designs to mayors and the public. Work Environment The preferred work schedule is in-office, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, with overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate. Water engineers can work in Ogden, Salt Lake, Midvale, or Springville offices. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.
