Arcadis is looking for a Water Wastewater Engineer with 5 or more years’ experience to join our Resilience Water Team in Atlanta, Georgia! We offer a flexible hybrid work culture with a balance between remote and in-office work.
We are looking for a dedicated, creative, and energetic candidate, interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions in a rapidly growing metropolitan area. Our clients face water or wastewater issues related to quality, emerging contaminants, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience. Arcadis is addressing these challenges by implementing services including pilot testing, ozone and membrane design, and other emerging technologies. This role provides rapid growth and development opportunities; collaborating with other experienced Water Professionals, you will support, manage, and drive development of projects, interact, and work with clients, and develop your technical and professional capabilities.
Role accountabilities:
The candidate in this role will provide technical support to our team of highly skilled engineers and applying technical knowledge to contribute to the team’s overall capabilities and capacity.
This role will support tasks and projects for the planning, design and construction of Water/Wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations, and/or treatment plants. Projects will include water treatment/drinking water facility engineering, investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services.
Other responsibilities include:
Perform engineering evaluations, modeling, and analysis. Develop design and construction documents (i.e., reports, technical memoranda, specifications, and cost estimates). Support construction administration of projects and lead and/or assist permitting efforts. Work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams. Supporting the production of design and associated documentation and reports to meet or exceed client expectations as well as Arcadis requirements. Some travel will be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
5 years of water / wastewater experience. Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field. PE License in Georgia or ability to obtain within one year.Key Skills and Attributes:
We are looking for candidates with project experience in designing and constructing water treatment and distribution systems and/or wastewater collection and treatment systems. Additionally, we seek individuals with project leadership experience as a Task Manager, Design Lead, or Technical Lead on projects of various sizes.
Candidates should possess excellent technical engineering skills in the water/wastewater practice area and have a strong background in preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, along with excellent technical writing skills and functional experience with MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field of study. They should also demonstrate technical expertise and previous experience with water/wastewater treatment projects, including familiarity with alternative project delivery methods. Proficiency in software programs such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, InfoWater, SewerCAD, and ArcGIS is preferred.
Additionally, knowledge and experience working with local municipalities in Georgia, including but not limited to the City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Paulding County, Cobb County, and Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, is an asset. Candidates that actively participate in regional and/or national professional associations is preferred.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $70,800 - $106,200/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
