Water/Wastewater Pipeline Inspector

DESCRIPTION

Generally assigned to a client, the construction inspector will monitor and inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure quality relating to potable water supply infrastructure in accordance with plans and specifications. The construction inspector will document findings including contractor construction materials, quantities, personnel, site conditions, safety, etc. 

As a client representative, you will be expected to: 

Report to work at the project to which he/she has been assigned.   Perform site inspections and report to the Construction Manager responsible for field inspection staff.   Monitor work on construction projects including quality, schedule, costs, and safety for compliance with the contract requirements and document all findings, observations, and issues.  Verify construction materials meet quality assurance requirements. Maintain effective communications and coordination between the contractor and CMI staff to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Utilize eConstruction tools including iPads and client documentation software.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

HS Diploma or GED, 2-year degree a plus 5+ years of prior experience in construction inspection for potable water supply infrastructure including related work items (i.e. water main installation and appurtenances) Computer skills: MS Office Ability to pass a background check MD Department of the Environment (MDE) Responsible Personnel Certification (RPC) for erosion and sediment control required MD State Highway Administration, or equivalent, Temporary Traffic Control training required OSHA 10 safety training required Confined space training required, or the ability to obtain NASSCO certifications preferred but not required Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) certifications preferred (i.e. soils, HMA, concrete) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines Attention to detail and effective decision making and organizational skills

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $30 to $40 an hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
