HDR is currently in need of an experienced Water / Wastewater Project Engineer to work as a key representative of the Mid-Atlantic Water Business Group (WBG). The successful candidate will be expected to work as a team member for preliminary engineering, studies, detailed design and construction services for water / wastewater treatment plants, developing proposals (e.g. scope and fee), and pumping stations. The candidate will have an immediate opportunity to begin developing skillsets associated with Project Management, Design Management, and client-facing responsibilities by supporting a variety of Senior Project Managers and Client Managers in our business group.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Water/Wastewater Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:
Assist and lead designs that are multi-disciplinary from concept, planning, design, and through completion of constructionProcess mechanical designHydraulic and other design calculationsPreparation of design drawings and technical specificationsEquipment selection and evaluationConstruction cost estimationConstruction administration services, including field inspections, shop drawing reviews, and coordination with contractors through request for information reviews, field orders, work change directives, and change orders. Perform other duties as neededHDR’s Mid-Atlantic WBG is engaged with clients across Maryland and Virginia to deliver some of their largest and most critical infrastructure projects as well as many opportunities with various basic ordering agreements. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineExperience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects and drinking water related projectsPE licenseMust have excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environmentA personality, disposition, and commitment to being an active participant of our client-focused employee-owned cultureExperience using the Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications
