Position summary: A career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT’s fast growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. Employee will plan and lead engineering tasks and projects in the water/wastewater field through working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes; manage multiple design projects, manage preparation and updating of project schedules; develop, analyze and document critical design elements; coordinate the efforts of a design team to determine requirements and incorporate feedback. The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sewershed study and rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, water/wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic. Employee is expected to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently to support the project team’s objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects.
Compensation for this position is $45-55/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Design responsibilities and project management Work closely with a design team to develop construction plans and specifications for various design projects Perform design computations Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines Develop construction cost estimates Developing scopes of work, developing conceptual designs and preliminary engineering studies, conceiving and implementing field investigation programs, sub-contractor management, as well as coordination of design disciplines in final design projects Construction phase engineering services Flexibility to support time-critical report development and production to meet demanding schedules Coordination with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and firm staff Some business development activities such as proposal writing and project interviews
