HDR is looking for a Project Manager to join our Water Business Group in one of our South Carolina offices (Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, or Rock Hill). This individual must have at least 10 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection system project design, as well as experience leading design teams through the planning, design, permitting and construction phases of projects. Project types could include water and wastewater treatment facilities, water transmission pipelines, water pump stations, wastewater collection systems, wastewater pump stations and related infrastructure projects. This individual must be skilled in planning studies, field alignment studies, coordinating with sub-consultants and utility owners, preparing preliminary and final design, drawing preparation coordination, developing technical specifications, and performing office and field services during construction. They will also be expected to direct production staff and perform client management activities to support our South Atlantic Area (NC/SC/GA) Water Business Group team. They will need to be skilled in studies, contributing to multiple design teams, coordinating with sub-consultants and utility client staff. On a day-to-day basis, they’ll also be expected to:
Function as a Project Manager, and be responsible for executing projects by managing and developing multidiscipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management toolsBuild team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and trainingLead and mentor younger staffParticipate in leadership for technical service functions and support the development of HDR services in utility planning, asset management, water/wastewater facilities planning and designSome regional travel will be expectedPreferred Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection system design with additional experience in project management requiredMust have excellent communication, leadership and planning skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environmentPosition requires very strong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda and reportsMS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline preferredSouth Carolina PE license desiredLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering 7 years related experience A minimum 2 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
