Role description:
Arcadis is looking for a Waterfront Climate Resilience Engineer to join our Climate Adaptation Practice in our New York City or White Plains Office.
Climate Adaptation practice focuses on delivering innovative and transformative solutions to address the challenges posed by climate change and coastal hazards while improving quality of life. We work on a diverse range of projects that include designing sustainable stormwater management systems, transformative coastal flood protection infrastructure, progressive design build projects, and waterfront design and integrated flood protection projects. Our multidisciplinary teams are dedicated to improving the resilience of coastal and inland environments through cutting-edge engineering and strategic planning.
Role accountabilities:
As a Waterfront Climate Resilience Engineer, you will use your engineering knowledge in climate resilience to design and/or rehabilitate structures for coastal resilience and climate adaptation projects across the United States. Additional responsibilities include:
Designing coastal and waterfront structures, flood protection and nature-based solutions. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on water resources and resiliency projects and ability to work in highly collaborative environment Preparing and reviewing technical reports, design drawings and calculation packages to implement coastal resiliency in projects. Evaluating and implementing sustainable stormwater management and flood control solutions. Traveling (up to 10%) for project site visits, client meetings, planning, or overseeing construction activities, depending on project needs. Mentoring junior engineers.Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, and/or Geotechnical and/or Coastal Engineering. 2-4 years related project based engineering experience with an emphasis on waterfront and coastal design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation. Experience in navigable waterways. Experience in engineering software relative to area of expertise such as AutoCAD Experience in designing concrete, timber and steel structures. Effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills, both in-person and virtually.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, and/or Geotechnical and/or Coastal Engineering. Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification.Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $132,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
