Job Summary: 

 

The Water Spider is responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials and supplies to the production line. This role is crucial in maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime by promptly delivering necessary items to various workstations. The Water Spider works closely with production teams to support smooth operations and contribute to overall productivity.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Coordination: Trip Kanban cards in accordance with the Fortive Material System (FMS) standard. Adhere to the FMS standard of where Kanban cards belong as material is moving through the system. Material Handling: Transport materials, components, and supplies to and from the production line as needed. Ensure that all necessary items are available at workstations to prevent delays. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies. Report shortages to the buyers. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures while handling materials. Use appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safe transportation of items. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve material handling processes and reduce waste. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest changes to enhance efficiency. Support Production: Assist production teams with additional tasks as needed, including cycle counts if the cycle counters are behind.

 

Minimum Education Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications:

2-5 years pacer, water spider, floater or equivalent experience or equivalent combined education and experience

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Capable of handling up to 50 lbs for short bursts; 50+ pounds will be handled with the assistance of hand trucks, lifts, conveyors and hoists. Ability to stand for long periods up to eight hours or more at a time.
