As a Waterworks Yard Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing the yard staff to provide the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities Supervise all yard staffUsing a radio-frequency gun (RF) fills, packages and ship acknowledges orders in a timely and accurate mannerProcess incoming product in a timely and accurate manner, checking for damaged productsUnderstand and be able to determine status of order at any given timeFollow tag and hold procedures for all incoming shipments and keep hold area clear and accessibleFollow any special instructions pertaining to an orderPoint out any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to Warehouse Manager or Inventory Control SpecialistLabel outbound material with appropriate shipping labelEnsure documents/system match actual quantities/items pickedRoute sales orders to accommodate efficiency and customer requestsEnsure that all orders are loaded and secured for efficient, timely delivery processesEnsure that orders are checked for content and labeling and note any discrepanciesOversee ship verification process to assure that product on the dock is confirmedEnsure that all picks are completed, labeled and loaded accuratelyMonitor staff productivity to ensure that trucks are loaded, and deliveries are made in a timely mannerEnsure that systems and procedures are implemented and communicated to staff in a timely manner and are followed consistentlyProvide performance plans and feedback for assigned staff to Regional Operations ManagerAssist the Regional Operations Manager in the annual review process for assigned staff timelyMonitor attendance of staff and address issues of concern appropriately and per company policyAssist the Regional Operations Manager in the hiring, developing and performance improvement of assigned staffMonitor safe and accurate loading or unloading of trucksAssist in the training of staff on any appropriate equipment usedAnswer the telephone in a polite and timely manner; answer questions correctly, take accurate messages or refer the call to the appropriate personFollow all safety proceduresEnsure the work area is clean and safeOther duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Manager or Regional Operations Manager Qualifications Good computer knowledge and skills and the ability to learn First Supply LLC’s business systemGood organizational skills related to managing paperwork and timeAbility to work within a fast paced environment with multiple interruptionsKnowledge of freight companies and prior experience scheduling (preferred)Experience with handheld RF units (preferred)Basic safety & powered industrial truck trainingAbility to read, speak, understand and write EnglishAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measureAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsFirst Supply, family-owned and operated for over 125 years, offers its employees a great benefits package including; medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO, company paid holidays, on demand pay, education assistance, adoption assistance, and more!
