Arup’s Transportation, Logistics, and Urban Planning (“TLUP”) team is seeking a talented and motivated Wayfinding and Signage Specialist based out of our New York City office. The successful candidate will share our passion for creating great places and working with interdisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, urban designers and planners to deliver creative solutions for transit facilities, airports, neighborhoods and more. The candidate will have experience in all phases of the design process from wayfinding strategy, concept design and graphics development, through construction and fabrication.

**The opportunity**
+ Provide major contributions in developing wayfinding and signage projects from start to finish. This includes analysis and development of wayfinding strategies, sign location plans and message schedules, sign design concepts, price estimations, design intent packages or construction documentation submittals, and the utilization or creation of signage guidelines based upon the project at hand.
+ Collaborate with the firm to support the wayfinding scope of work in engineering, digital design, urban design, communication design, pedestrian movement and user experience projects.
+ Assist in development of construction documents for fabrication, procurement support for vendors and fabricators, cost estimates and material research and processes for wayfinding signage projects.
+ Coordinate design and delivery with clients, architects, engineers and design team members.
+ Evaluate site conditions including surveys/punch list for signage and wayfinding.
+ Provide clear, concise written, verbal and visual communications to client, design team, stakeholders, suppliers and vendors.
+ Assist in identifying, writing, reviewing and fine-tuning proposals for signage and wayfinding proposals, at times coordinating RFP documentation with consultants from multiple disciplines.
+ Help advance the graphic design capabilities of the TLUP team and support in the development of reports, documents and submittals, design documents, marketing material, data visualization, maps and diagrams, when not fully resourced on wayfinding projects.
**The skills**
+ Bachelor’s degree in architecture, industrial design, environmental graphics, graphic design or similar program required.
+ Minimum 5-8 years' experience in graphic design, signage, environmental graphic design, architecture in a studio agency, or professional services setting.
+ Experience with signage materials, specifications, fabrication and installation methods.
+ Proficiency drawing to scale, developing and reviewing detailed elevations, plans, sections and shop drawings.
+ Knowledge of ADA guidelines, national codes and standards, and familiarity researching municipal regulatory ordinances.
+ Strong visualization skills and graphic sensibilities.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience working with clients, vendors, consultants and project teams.
+ Interest in current industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in wayfinding and experiential graphic design.
+ Ability to multitask effectively on multiple projects simultaneously and can prioritize tasks accordingly
+ Creative and curious strategic thinker who is equally collaborative and independent, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail that gets excited for the opportunity to build better systems to grow and evolve.
+ Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and CADtools.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
**Preferred**
+ Experience with GIS platforms and map production.
+ Proficiency in Rhino, CAD, Revit and/or SketchUp.
+ Experience with digital experiential systems

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $90,600 to $106,400 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
