Pay Range

$87,450 - $130,236 Annually

$87,450 - $108,564 Annually for the A07.2 level 
$104,910 - $130,236 Annually for the A07.3 level

Job Description

We have openings for Group Leaders (GL) in the Weapons Business Operations (WBO) Division. You will provide leadership and oversight to your group, consisting of approximately five to 10 group members, who provide administrative, analytical, and/or business operations support to the broad array of program and project areas within Strategic Deterrence (SD). You will also interface between the division management team and your group. These positions are within the Strategic Deterrence Directorate.

These positions will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level. 

In this role, you will

Provide career development and leadership for an interdisciplinary group of exempt and/or non-exempt staff, participate in determining staffing requirements, and invest in division personnel to develop a well-trained workforce, ensuring the highest quality personnel are recruited and retained.Execute division long-term goals as an active participant on the division’s management team.Participate in interviewing and hiring new workforce to meet evolving needs in collaboration with the WBO Senior Management Team.Actively participate in mentoring, training, reclassification, and employee development within your WBO section.Maintain service area forms, records, databases and documents, and prepare custom or ad hoc reports and conduct in-depth analysis for management decision-making.Participate in the development and consistent application of processes and procedures aligned with the WBO Strategic Plan.Recognize, create, and implement plans to promote and foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability.Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job duties at the A07.3 level

Serve as primary liaison with key external vendors and internal customer group in the resolution of escalated and/or systemic issues and complex service area problems.Serve as an advisor through sharing skills and knowledge and train and mentor staff on a broad range of service operations topics. Qualifications This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.Leadership experience; an understanding of principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures, and state and federal laws; and knowledge and understanding of HR compliance requirements (e.g., FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.).Advanced use of MS Office applications, including a demonstrated ability to develop reports for use in management decision making.Specialized and operational knowledge working in a weapons program.

Additional Qualifications at the A07.3 level

Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related business, operational, and/or organizational area.Supervisory experience with leadership and teambuilding skills to effectively build, lead, and manage an effective administrative, business, and operations team.Broad experience working in a weapons program.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of and experience applying personnel policy and procedures and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge and understanding in a wide array of situations dealing with staff.Experience coordinating multiple work activities, workflow, and multi-faceted processes for a service operations or customer service area, including ability to lead administrative projects especially around scheduling and accommodations.Experience developing supporting business and service area processes and generating process improvements for a service operation area.Demonstrated experience implementing plans to promote and value diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in the workplace.

Additional Desired Qualifications at the A07.3 level

Experience developing performance measures and analyzing data outcomes for a service area.Comprehensive experience applying analysis tools used in a service area.Complete knowledge of industry principles, concepts, practices, standards, processes and systems for a complex, specialized service operations area or multiple related areas. Security Clearance
