Position Title / Grade Level Web Applications Intern Department Information Technology Location Auburn Hills, WHQ POSITION SUMMARY The Web Applications Intern will provide support and application development in the area of Intranet applications.  This role will continue to improve technical expertise through the identification of new processes and technical alternatives. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout their area of responsibility and consistently adding value back to the business by leveraging their knowledge and experience to assist the business in addressing their business needs. This person will work mostly with internal teams and on occasion with external design / implementation teams and work cross-functionally between the business and IT to bridge the gap between design, content, and technology.    POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES + Overall project management of projects within his / her area of responsibility including implementation and testing of all new functionality / features + Design, develop, debug, produce, refine, test, deploy, maintain , and document web-based solutions using customized as well as out-of-the-box functionality, including web parts and InfoPath forms and code + Design solutions that accurately reflect requirements and provide innovative solutions to customer (user) needs within defined time and cost constraints + Act as a technical resource to users, customers, and other team members + Provide production support and maintain existing systems by researching and troubleshooting any user-related problems + Keep customers informed of progress and work to quickly and efficiently bring user issues to resolution + Responsible for providing functional and technical specifications, where applicable, for all development and work with development team members to successfully deliver development objects + Create and maintain documentation necessary to ensure successful implementation and support of the web environment   KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Maintenance of the Corporate Int er net site (s) + Assist in support of various Intranet applications + Responsible for various projects that are driven by the business (requirements, documentation, coding, deployment, maintenance, and support) POSITION COMPETENCIES (10 most important) + Action-oriented + Understanding of ethics and compliance + Functional / technical skills + Prioritizing based on time and importance + Learning on the fly + Listening + Process management + Drive for results + Self-sufficient + Communication skills + Customer focused + Working independently INTERNAL CUSTOMERS / CONTACTS + BorgWarner Corporate Headquarters + All Business Units and Shared Services EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS / CONTACTS Minimal contact SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY None EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS + Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , MIS, or other IT-related degree + Demonstrated experience in HTML + Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities + Results-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills + Ability and desire to solve complex software problems + Strong customer management skills and ability to understand translate and define complex business requirements and recommend solutions based on those requirements  Information Technology Areas of Expertise + Preferred Web Application development experience + I ncluding HTML, C#, CSS, XSL/XML (Java, J avaScript / React , SQL, and jQuery a plus) + Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint / Power Platform experience a plus) The statements in this job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed .
