Description of Work Unit
The mission of Research Information Technology ( RIT ) within the Office of the Vice President of Research ( OVPR ) at Colorado State University ( CSU ) is to provide innovative services for the campus research community that benefit research administration services and enable research activities at the institution, which can be leveraged centrally. Research IT is responsible for the information system strategies, assessment, and implementation.
The Office of the Vice President for Research has overall responsibility for promoting and facilitating the research enterprise at Colorado State University ( CSU ). The Office of the Vice President for Research will enable the University, its faculty, staff, and students to emerge as a world-class research institution complementing our learning, service, and outreach missions. The Office of the Vice President for Research will lead the 21st Century Land-Grant mission of CSU by fostering and supporting the research enterprise, promoting scholarship and artistry, instilling a culture of integrity, inclusion, diversity, and capitalizing on opportunities to address global challenges.

Position Summary
The OVPR Web Content Coordinator is responsible for updating and maintaining Office of the VP for Research ( OVPR ) websites, as well as creating unique web content and stories that promotes and aligns with the uniform branding standards of the university. Critical information must be digested and communicated via visual and audio resources to broad audience through web resources meeting stringent deadlines. This position reports to the Senior Director of Research IT, a division of the OVPR .
Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, web design, or related field, OR Associate degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience.
+ Minimum of one year of demonstrated writing experience for print and online media demonstrated with news, feature, social media and web-based writing samples or minimum of one year of demonstrated experience developing or managing content for a web ecosystem.
+ 1 year of experience building websites with HTML , CSS and Javascript
+ Experience with web user experience (UX) design
+ 1 or more years of demonstrated experience in building accessible websites in compliance with WCAG accessibility standards
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Exposure to web design through a higher education environment,
+ 1 year of more of experience in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Visual Studio, Adobe Illustrator, Google Analytics, Genially, Site Improve
+ Experience working on search engine optimization ( SEO ) and mobile responsiveness projects

+ Maintain websites using test and deployment methods to provide updates for the OVPR’s 60+ research department websites and microsites.
+ Create new and update existing content utilizing contemporary web design best practices optimized for access to information, user experience, mobile responsiveness, and search engine placement
+ Maintain frequent communication with all OVPR divisions, units, and research facilities to ensure all teams are adequately represented on the website
+ Frequently test and review websites for quality assurance to ensure all content is up to date
+ Collaborate with university units to ensure compliance with policies and standards around brand standards, web content, and online accessibility for the university
+ Implement search engine optimization ( SEO ) strategy, improving site ranking in organic search results
+ Serve as a member on CSU’s Web Accessibility Sub-Committee; build and maintain accessible websites that meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines ( WCAG ) Standards

+ Resolve all OVPR Web Maintenance tickets; Respond promptly, accurately and efficiently to requests from staff and administration for necessary updates, security patches and compromises
+ Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to OVPR website ecosystem
+ Assess content performance utilizing web analytic programs and other monitoring tools, identifying and implementing needed adjustments

+ Collaborate with the necessary communications staff and constituents across OVPR to ensure web projects are organized and communicated flawlessly and delivered on time.
+ Manage the cross-campus submissions to the OVPR event calendar
+ Ensure compliance pages are accurate while working directly with the Compliance and Integrity Office or other constituents.
+ Serve as resource to other units, departments and divisions within Colorado State University for best practices in website accessibility and user experience
+ Other content-creation projects as assigned
