Have a strong technical background, including 4+ years of front-end engineering  Have the ability to dive into new code and explore new technologies and APIs  Can speak authoritatively on a range of frontend technical topics  Have incredible communication skills and enjoy communicating challenging technical concepts.  Enjoy doing whatever it takes to solve problems and see projects through to completion  Find improving performance engineering standards, tooling, and processes rewarding  Uphold best practices in performance optimization and user experience  Hold yourself and others to a high level of accountability  Can effectively debug complex frontend performance problems  Demonstrate analytical skills and attention to detail  Have a good understanding of application development lifecycle 

Job Responsibilities:

Audit websites for performance, identify optimization opportunities, and present the results in the cross-functional team environment  Work in a collaborative environment developing and executing against immediate and long term incremental programs  Make effective tradeoffs considering business priorities, but always with the user experience in mind  Advise web engineering teams on key technical performance and optimization considerations and best practices  Work with Data/Analytics team on ensure assets are trackable for reporting and insights initiatives  Profile performance of JavaScript and layouts for a multitude of devices/platforms  Work with partners and vendors (ex. Tealium, Google Analytics, Optimizely) to ensure each initiative delivers maximum impact to customers across all websites and data platforms  Generate performance reports, competitive analysis and benchmarks for internal partners using our best-in-class performance and optimization digital solution platforms  Provide an unparalleled customer experience by driving new features and technical documentation  Find performance issues before users experience them  Police and standardize performance budgets, scorecards and KPIs  Monitor and measure complex multi-step user flows on our customers’ websites and applications using a full browser and a script recorder  Track mobile and desktop experiences and performance over time, over any network connection  Keep an eye on and optimize 3rd party tags, and identify slow and error-causing external scripts  Run tests with highly customizable configurations on any device type, connection speed or viewport  Develop, share, and set the bar for high quality in web performance engineering 

Experience You Need for this Position:

HTML5/CSS3  JavaScript  jQuery  JavaScript Frameworks  Responsive/Adaptive Design  Cross-Browser Development  Content Management Systems  Testing/Debugging  Git/Version Control  DevTools inside and out  Webpagetest.org inside and out  A huge bonus skill: solid hands-on understanding of Google Analytics, CDNs and custom HTTP headers
