WEB PRODUCT OWNER, IT

The role of the Sr IT Manager - Web Service Product Owner will be to own all services and strategy related to web including web platform, web analytics, SEO, content management, social media, and any new and emerging technologies that may be relevant to the web space in order for Ionis to be successful.  You will serve as a Web Service Product Owner within the Information Technology function supporting the entire Ionis enterprise including our expanding Commercial, Medical, and Corporate Functions and will report into the Director of Customer Experience Platforms

The candidate will own all services and strategy related to web including web analytics, SEO, web platform, new technologies, content management, social, etc.  It will be vital to quickly develop a deep understanding of the technologies Ionis uses for web management as well as Ionis processes and be a subject matter expert that can advise on web strategy across all Ionis web initiatives.  Additionally, a deep knowledge of web best practices and a keen interest in finding and implementing innovative new web trends and technologies will be key success factors.    

 

Responsibilities:

Web Service Product Owner with ownership of cross business unit web services, process improvement, and strategy management including CMS platform, analytics, SEO, etc. Subject Matter Expert for web processes, platforms, development vendor vetting and on-boarding, web domain knowledge and strategy. Development and maintenance of Digital Asset Inventory Guide the lifecycle of Digital Assets through ideation, design, development, testing, and deployment with the ability to provide guidance to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation Development and rollout of standard Ionis processes and ways of working related to web tools and services to be applied across all relevant stakeholders including development vendors and internal Ionis Management of web development vendors including contracts, scope of services, performance, and management of Ionis standards and practices Develop documentation and training around processes, newly implemented technologies, and strategies. Independently researches and sustains domain expertise on current web trends, strategies, and technologies to help move Ionis’ web presence forward.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, advanced degree in technology (Engineering, IT, CS) or business management. 5+ years related experience within bio/pharma corporate function or heavily regulated industry Understanding of the pharma medical, legal, regulatory review process Understanding of relevant Privacy regulations Strong background understanding of modern web development methodologies, processes, and standards 3+ years experience with Content Management Systems such as Drupal, Wordpress, Site Core Experience with Veeva Vault Proficient experience with OneTrust Cookie and Preference/Consent modules Experience with integrations with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Experience with A/B or Multivariate testing and Web Personalization Experience with Google Analytics, tagging and tag management (Google Tag Manager) Experience with Digital Asset Management platforms such as Widen Good understanding of SEO/SEM/social media Understanding of latest web technologies Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across a matrixed organization. Strong organizational, planning and financial management skills. Working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies. Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure, handling multiple projects at once. Understanding Quality Assurance to develop test plans in partnership with IS, business and supplier stakeholders Excellent Communication skills to communicate fluently across and up through organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks and business impacts Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact.
