Complete Description: In an effort to provide better customer service to County businesses and citizens the County redesigned its website. The redesign included implementing a new website software application (Ektron), standardizing web page content, revamping the interaction with pdf documents and links, and redesigning web page navigation. The redesigned website went live in March 2014. The next step in ensuring a professional high quality website is to have the website hosted by a private company. CivicPlus has been selected to host the website.Hanover County is seeking a qualified website consulting contractor to assist in moving the County website to a hosted environment using the CivicPlus solution. The consultant will be required to be on-site at the County periodically to interface with the vendor and our IT as well as our internal customers and quite possibly County citizens if we do any outreach. We will not need the contractor for 40 hours per week, are hoping for more of an as-needed basis. We envision the need for the contractor to be highest at the beginning of the contract to assist with the website discovery and migration, then lull a bit, then pick up a bit again near the March 2017 go-live with the end of the contract being April 30, 2017. Typical Project Tasks
Assistance with implementation of the CivicPlus solution, Advise the County on implementation processes, methodologies, and best practices. Experience with CivicPlus desired, but not required.
Assist with graphics to be posted to website Process for getting photos prepared to be posted to front and internal pages.
Assist with transition plan Recommendations on cross-walk between old/new websites and redirects. Testing and go live plan. Knowledge of Ektron desired.
Review and provide recommendation on website standards document . Move to a more decentralized update process. Procedures for updating, authoring, approving. Review content accessibility and governance.
Recommend support tools
Evaluate analytic tools (google vs. picwik).
Assist with Calendar development Design a process to keep the calendar current.
Social media and other website integrations Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Integrations with other County sites – bai.net, click2gov, granicus, activenet.
Advanced technology Implement responsive design. Ensure a secure environment. Compatible with latest browsers. Responsive design. Improve searches. RSS feeds.
Assist in the implementation of CivicPlus modules Alert center, archive center, notify me, civicsend, and forms center.
