The Web Support Specialist is the expert for a technical development and execution of DCNR web sites. Primary responsibility is to ensure availability and facilitate productive use of the DCNR Web Center Content product (a UCM).

Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
Role Description:
Provide support to DCNR enterprise websites. Work includes working with departmental content management solution, collaboration software, and basic html. Web design and taxonomy background would be beneficial. Working within the IT bureau, this resource will maintain content management templates, leverage websites designs derived from the DCNR communications office to create new templates, and to work with external database connections for the overall web presence.
Work with the DCNR Web Administrator in:
1. Aid in the support of DCNR current websites, while in-house staff focus on the upgrade and conversion of DCNR enterprise external sites.
2. Aid (as necessary) with the conversion of the external DCNR website.
3. Work on the planning and modification to DCNR Intranet web sites. Creating an overall scope and taxonomy for wh at a new intranet would look like and function.
4.Work with OA-OIT on the external Sharepoint tool creating extranet sites for DCNR initiatives (OCS collaboration, telecommuting, etc.)
Make sound recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the product.
Analyze the functional and technical impact of product planning decisions.
Develop appropriate functional and usability standards for products.
Track and document expected volume and type of use of the product.
Participate in product design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements.
Perform impact analyses on production fixes and enhancements to establish priorities.
Provide basic product support and provide accurate and complete answers to detailed product questions in a timely manner.
Provide effective on-site product support as needed.
Accurately sets severity of identified defects.
Provide input to training and / or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design changes.
Document all work for future reference.
