Job Description:Under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing for the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP), the Website Coordinator (UF Classification: Marketing and Comm Spec I) will collaborate with writers, college staff and faculty to develop and maintain engaging web content. The role also involves providing information architecture solutions for the PHHP web presence and the PHHP intranet.
Content Optimization (SEO, Information Architecture Improvements)
Work closely with PHHP clients and PHHP marketing and communications in finding opportunities to optimize site content to improve user experience and to improve search engine result page (SERP) rankings of existing sites for strategic key words and phrases. Review and advise appropriate personnel regarding PHHP websites on ways to improve visitor flow and goal completions. Regularly analyze the taxonomy that drives the college websites and determine methods for continual improvements to deliver relevant, timely information to core audiences.
Content Updates
Work closely with PHHP clients and marketing/news staff in planning, coordinating, and executing content additions and modifications of websites (text, graphics, videos, forms, etc.) and in reviewing and making recommendations for continual improvement of existing content.
Website Analytics and Reporting
Use relevant analytics tools to review site effectiveness and to identify trends and areas needing additional review and testing for improvement.
Usability and Accessibility Compliance
Maintain currency in applicable accessibility laws such as federal website accessibility law 508. Perform impact analysis on the PHHP web presence triggered by legal changes. Ensure all PHHP websites and website templates adhere to federal and state laws, and UF policies regarding website accessibility.
End User Support
Collaborate with PHHP clients on best practices for using UF Health web templates and best practices for usability, accessibility, and search engine optimization. Assemble content for web pages and make recommendations on filling gaps for necessary information to convey to audiences. Respond to end user questions related to content and content updates, use of content management software, participate and assist in client meetings and reviews of websites.
Professional Development (Continuous Improvement)
Research the web design field for new best practices and recommendations on improving information architecture, user testing, usability, accessibility, content strategy, and search engine optimization. Monitor trends in peer institution websites to make recommendations for further site improvements.
Expected Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000; commensurate with experience, skills, and education.

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a web development, information technology, marketing, or related field. At least one year of experience with content strategy, white-hat SEO techniques, accessibility standards that exceed federal requirements, usability testing, and interpreting web analytics data. Excellent organizational skills. Strong writing, as well as strong command of grammar and non-technical writing. Knowledge of information architecture, search engine optimization, writing for the web, analytics, and WordPress. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with faculty and staff across various departments within the organization.
