Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Website Software Developer / Principal Website Software Developer to join our growing team of diverse professionals in Suffolk, Virginia. The Planner will support the Joint Staff Support team in delivering collective joint training (CJT) to enhance the operational effectiveness of the current and future joint force. The Software Developer will perform duties throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) in coordination with supported military customers and CJT leads.

Responsibilities:
Researches exercise related topics to create relevant contentUses markup languages like HTML to create user-friendly web pagesMaintains and improve websitesCollaborates with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability of pagesObtains feedback from, and builds solutions for, users and customersWrites functional requirement documents and guidesCreates quality mockups and prototypesEnsures high quality graphic standards and brand consistencyStays up to date on emerging technologiesServes as a functional expert for the planning, conceptualization, and preparation of media products for joint and combined military exercises and mission rehearsalsProvides consulting expertise to military or defense clients in the development of synthetic mediaCoordinates and adjusts suspense dates based on the need and ability to develop productsAttends exercise planning conferences, In-Progress Reviews, and coordination meetingsServes as media cell member during execution of joint training events around the worldThis position may also be filled at the Principal level per the requirements below.
Basic Qualifications for Website Software Developer:
High school diploma with a minimum of 7 years of proven web communications, front-end developer, or Public Relations experienceBachelor’s degree with 3 years of proven web communications, front-end developer, or Public Relations experienceMaster’s degree with 1 year of proven web communications, front-end developer, or Public Relations experienceHands on experience with markup languagesExperience with JavaScript, CSS and jQueryFamiliarity with browser testing and debuggingIn-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)Understanding of layout aestheticsAbility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple prioritiesFamiliarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop and content management systemsAbility to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as needed (up to 25% of the time)Possess an active U.S. DoD Secret Security clearancePossess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. PassportAbility to work on-site in Suffolk, VirginiaBasic Qualifications for Principal Website Software Developer:

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
