Weekend Pharmacy Technician - Oncology
Job Descriptions: New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is currently seeking a Weekend Pharmacy Technician in our New Rock Row location. The weekend Pharmacy Technician prepares non-chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusions and injections according to established policies and procedures. They’ll utilize the inventory management system and perform practice inventory as directed by pharmacy leadership NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 5 different locations in Maine and New Hampshire. This state-of-the-art facility brings together a comprehensive range of services under one roof, including surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, genetic counseling, survivorship programs, nutrition support, and behavioral health counseling. Every detail of the campus reflects a commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring that individuals and their families feel supported throughout their cancer journey in a warm and welcoming environment. Responsibilities: + Product preparationLabels all infusions and injections before dispensing to nursing. + Prepares non-chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusions and injections. + Reviews all patients’ orders to verify dose and administration instructions, and notifies a pharmacist, physician, or nursing for any questionable orders before preparation. + Batch prepares pre-medications as necessary. + Maintains the practice inventory and performs a physical inventory of medications stocked each weekend. + Documents daily cleaning, temperatures, and humidity in Simplifi797. + Documents all medication waste and expired drugs according to pharmacy procedures. + Responsible for maintaining a clean working environment in the drug preparation area according to established policies and procedures. + Notifies a pharmacist or pharmacy services manager of any product issues or shortages. + Obtains continuing education credit as required yearly. + Must be available to provide coverage for vacation and illness at other practice sites as directed. Required Experience: + High School diploma or equivalent required; some college is preferred. + National pharmacy technician certification is required. (PTCB) + At least one year of experience (or combination of education and experience) as a pharmacy technician. + Must have demonstrated IV admixture skills and abilities. + Eligible for state registration, certification, or licensure per state regulation. + Has strong experience working in an EMR or EHR Keyword: Pharmacy Technician - Kennebunk From: New England Cancer Specialists
