This position reports to

Maintenance Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate cause of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspect used parts to determine changes to dimensional requirements.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repair or replace defective parts.Be able to lift and move equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more. Lubricates and clean parts.Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair partsInitiates purchase order for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment.

Qualifications for the role

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).Minimum of four to six years of mechanical experience and/or a state license, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.One year certificate from college or technical school and/or a state license preferredSafety conscious, 5S driven, and recommends safety corrections immediately.Produces excellent quality work.Engaged to meet production goals regularly.Participates in team initiatives yet self-motivated.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
