Description of Duties DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: + Greets and refers individuals to appropriate staff or College services. + Provides information and telephone switchboard service for the Quad-Cities Campus utilizing the software/system located at the primary Welcome Desk on campus. + Provides accurate general college information to individuals upon request. + Works collaboratively with Campus Public Safety to take photos of students for the distribution of student identification cards. + Coordinates schedule of student workers to ensure coverage of Welcome Center and phone lines during regular campus hours. + Provides switchboard training to Welcome Center staff. + Communicates new or updated information to co-workers. + Creates and maintains job aids specific to Welcome Center functions. + Provides word processing and other clerical duties as needed. + Performs opening and/or closing procedures. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES: + Maintains inventory of materials/supplies for Welcome Center. + Responsible for neat and clean work area. + Performs opening and/or closing procedures. + Performs general clerical duties and assists with various projects as assigned. + Maintains confidentiality of information collected and distributed. + Works with Campus Police regarding lost and found items. + Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Education & Experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.) + High School diploma or recognized equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred. + Previous experience providing face-to-face and telephone customer service preferred. + Good verbal communication skills required. + Computer experience including Microsoft Office (i.e. Word) required. + Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
