Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Weld Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead the weld fabrication department and work closely with the Fabrication Supervisor. This role involves performing MIG welding on mainly structural steel, fabricating and fitting parts together from blueprints, and using overhead cranes to stand material up and tack beams in place. The position requires a certified welder with leadership experience, capable of welding both horizontally and vertically.

ResponsibilitiesLead the weld fabrication department with the Fabrication Supervisor.Perform MIG welding primarily on structural steel with occasional stainless steel.Fabricate and fit parts together accurately from blueprints.Conduct horizontal and vertical welding.Use overhead cranes to position and secure materials.Utilize hand and power tools to ensure parts fit together correctly.Perform grinding, torch cutting, and finishing work as needed.Essential SkillsCertified welder with a valid welding certification.Proficient in MIG welding on structural steel.Experienced in leadership and supervision within a fabrication environment.Skilled in blueprint reading.Capable of vertical welding.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have at least 2 years of working experience or have graduated from welding school with AWS certifications.Must have own basic tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, tape measure, pliers).Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, though it can appear unorganized due to high activity levels and units spread out across the floor. Teamwork is highly emphasized, and you will work with other employees daily. The team consists of approximately 180 individuals across manufacturing and office roles. The first shift operates from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with optional work on Fridays for 4-8 hours. The dress code requires steel-toe boots and safety glasses, and you must have your own tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NORTH CANTON, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
