SUMMARYThe Weld Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, leadership and continuous improvement of their area (Welding, Paint, Quality, etc.). This position empowers the hourly workforce to accomplish 100% quality, responsiveness, production, customer service, and safety in a team-based environment. Key position results include, but are not limited to, equipment is staffed and running safely and efficiently; timely performance evaluations; interaction management procedures are followed; and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented and tracked. A successful candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to work efficiently and effectively with other functional areas to meet or exceed quality and delivery requirements. A highly motivated self-starter adept at taking initiative with solid leadership skills and a background in the relevant area/trade. RESPONSIBILITIES Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees. - Manages performance evaluations, interaction, and disciplinary process. - Manages staffing and scheduling (including overtime and vacation). - Assists teams with continuous improvement initiatives (driving safety, quality, and process efficiencies). - Manages expenses with P&L. - Develops monthly schedule based on customer demand. - Manages goal setting, tracking, and communication. - Identifies training needs and coordinates cross-training opportunities. - Acts as facilitator between operations support teams and other departments. - Assists Sales and Production in expediting critical orders. - Assists Quality in resolving quality issues - customer claims, corrective action as assigned by Quality department. - Participates in safety meetings, investigations, and audit reporting to superintendent. - Provides support and direction for Safety initiatives in the area. - Manages reporting verification - daily production, daily maintenance downtime - report root cause analysis, daily call off, and safety audits. - Consistently maintains production averages at or above the expected standards. - Other duties as required and assigned. Area Manager REQUIREMENTS - Minimum of 6 years in a manufacturing environment required - Minimum of 6 years in a leadership position required - 3 - 5 years relevant trade experience strongly preferred - Minimum of 6 months previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge preferred - Strong knowledge of equipment capabilities and pressure vessels preferred - Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel required - Oil and Gas manufacturing technical knowledge with the ability to communicate with operators, engineers, and maintenance required - Demonstrated ability to delegate and promote team growth required - Excellent analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills required - Demonstrated problem-solving skills, safety practices, and attention to quality required - Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization - Strong verbal and written communication skills required - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions, and operate required tools for the position strongly preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
