Summary/Objective: The Welder is responsible for adding value in the process flow by accurately assembling various components and/or sub-assemblies into specified fixturing and joining by welding or repairing defective welds Required Education and Experience Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Picking and placing components or subassemblies into proper fixturing and joining by the application of GMAW (Gas-Metal-Arc Welding.) Exercising product and process knowledge to identify out-of-conformance situations and alert supervisor or Quality Auditor of these situations in a timely manner. Rotation of position into different production teams as is necessary to meet production schedules and Company goals in general. Maintenance of good housekeeping practices always. Ability to set up welding equipment including changing gas Competencies: Communication skills Organizational skills Initiative Time management Friendly/understanding Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility. Physical Demands: While performing duties of the job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the team member works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The team member may work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires personal protective equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided (contingent on position). Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position. The hours of this shift are 5:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Pay: The starting rate for this role is $20.00 per hour. Travel: There is no travel with this position.
