Volt is immediately hiring multiple Pipe Welders in San Diego, CA.

As a Welder you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPlan sequences of welding operations and determine methods of welding to weld pipe and pipe fittings into pipe assemblies, using available welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) and gas metal arc welding (MIG).\r\n\tPerform setup incidental for welding operations, working from blueprints, sketches, other authorized documents and/or oral instructions.\r\n\tWeld any gauge materials where welded areas are subject to high pressure or extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks.\r\n\tWeld flat, vertical or overhead areas, or in difficult positions and areas difficult of access. Recognize need for and pre-heat materials as necessary and minimize warpage by proper location of weld and stress relieving methods.\r\n\tForm and shape details, as required. Improvise welding aids such as paper templates, locating devices, holding blocks, etc.\r\n\tPerform surface preparation of parts such as cleaning, sanding, grinding, polishing and some assembly of parts.\r\n\tClean and dress welds including the cutting and repairing of unacceptable weld joints.\r\n\tCheck own work for conformance to specifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n

We are looking for candidates who are flexible to work the 2nd shift 2pm – 10:30pm but are flexible to work 1st if needed. Lots of overtime available. This is temp for 15 months, with very strong potential to go perm quickly (within a few months). The company offers job stability, growth opportunities and a fun/employee friendly environment. The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPrevious Pipe Welding experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment or possess a welding certification from an accredited college or institution\r\n\tThe ideal candidate would have experience in TIG welding, pipe welding and stainless steel experience.\r\n\tProficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, datum lines and tolerances to produce defect-free work\r\n\tKnowledge of hand tools, measuring devices and their proper application\r\n\tAbility to read and communicate effectively in English language\r\n\tProficiency in shop math\r\n\tComfortable in using a computer\r\n\tWilling to engage or take initiative to improve safety, quality, velocity and minimize cost\r\n\tMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35lbs and wear welder face shield\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $30/hr.
